Great confidence. The confidence of Christians is not in themselves, in will-power, in man, but in what did Jesus accomplish: He went in the heavens and opened a way for us to follow Him and to be where He is.
Oracles of God. The oracles of God. The Bible is a divine revelation, an inspired revelation, an authoritative revelation, a divinely kept revelation. We must cherish it, keep it, live it, love it, publish it.
Wisdom of Paul. Paul responds to the Jews who accused him that his Gospel contradicts Scriptures. Paul shows them that they are those who did this. In evangelizing people we will always met with their objections, criticisms and fights against the Word of God, because they will want to justify themselves.
Tragedy of external religion. The tragedy of having only an external, ritualistic religion, without experiencing the inward work of grace. Tragedy of hypocrisy.
Great message. Great teaching: the believer's happiness is based on the blessings given by God: the blessing of forgiveness, of atonement, of justification and sanctification. Sin robs the joy of fellowship from the Christian. But there is restoration after confession of sin. And instruction how to stand.
Serious warning. Serious message, serious warning: there is a drifting away from Christ. It is possible to make a profession of faith, but not to be saved. And the consequence of disregarding such a great salvation from such a great Savior is tragic, is to be lost. A message that should sound in all churches!
Indeed! Let the hand of God be upon us! I haven't listened to every sermon of Dr. Cairns, by far... but every one of them that the Lord's good providence has brought me to has never failed to bless. I pray that Dr. Cairns' prayer be answered, not only for his surrounding community but for all our congregations that desire to see, not man-made imitations of spiritual things, but the real, supernatural and Biblical hand of God upon us. Thank you, Pastor Cairns, for the encouraging words.
People at the cross. A message about the people at the cross, the people that believed: the roman centurion, the thief, Mary, Peter. And what the cross meant for Christ. The power of the cross.
Great Sermon! What a powerful sermon! This truth makes the beliver's soul soar up to GOD. As always Pastor Cairn preaches up to GOD and not down to man. (A harmonious quality in the Free Presbyterian Church). A rarity in today's churches.
Great proving. Second step: God proving Gideon. God brings Gideon step by step to trust only in Him and not in the flesh. God will prove all those who enters in the ministry.
Vital Christianity. True experience of the Holy Spirit; true expression of our union with Christ; true feeding on Christ; true exercise of prayer on the merits of Christ.
Great Sermon! I so appreciate your great and timely message. I am a Free Will Baptist Pastor and I through study of the scripture understand Salvation always has and always will be By Grace through Faith both in O.T and new.
Unchanging God. Certainty of God's plan and election based on the essential attribute of God's eternity. God is everlasting, He changes not, so His plans are not changing. This is our great comfort.
Great warning. Serious warning. The people tasted the gifts of Canaan, saw the land, heard the promise of God, stood at the border of Canaan, but were lost because of unbelief. A warning for those who have the light of the gospel, who tasted the gifts of heaven, but who are not coming to Christ.
Great Sermon! I always enjoy the preaching of Dr. Cairns. This one is particularly wonderful for me because I was recently explaining to someone that these New Testament Scriptures were written to regenerated creatures; that we are to keep these truths ever before us, which keeps us ever before the Cross. I agree with Brother Scott, this clear explanation is a Must Hear.
Great man of God. I listened for the first time to a first-person presentation by Dr. Panosian. I never heard something like this! I was moved to tears. And I cried to God to make my life to count also. I am sad that it is not the entire message here.
Explained clearly A perennial sermon that explains the Reformed doctrine of "total depravity" with clarity, and shows how this essential doctrine leads to the good news of the gospel that Christ saves sinners. The doctrine of total depravity is what make Christianity distinct from other world religions. Without it, there is little difference. If you are uncertain about this doctrine, this sermon is a must-hear.
Proving God. First step in spiritual warfare is proving God with your life. Gideon asked God to fill him with heavenly water in a dry world; and he asked God to keep him untouched from the world.
God our light. God is the light of His people. The light of illumination, of reconciliation, of holiness, of happiness, of victory. Our joy now depends on how much we understand about what we are and have in Christ.
