Prayer of Paul. A message on verses 20 and 21. Addressing to God in prayer, on the basis of Christ's sacrifice, asking spiritual things in prayer. The will of God is our sanctification.
Great Sermon! Such a timely and encouraging word. I was deeply touched and found great strenth because of it. You have no idea how much it has helped me. God bless and continue to open His truths up to you to share with others.
When we need (not) God. The pride of self-sufficiency, the lack of prayer and confidence on God are the motives for the lack of blessing coming from God.
Great assurance. God's changeless person; God's covenant people; God's comforting promise. The glory of His greatness, the glory of His grace, the glory of His Gospel.
Blessed grace. The grace is evidenced in the design of the Gospel; is exhibited in the demonstration of the Gospel; is exalted in the doctrines of the Gospel; is exercised in the deliverance of the Gospel.
Great Savior. Christ, our foundation, our protection, our fountain of every blessing. Christ is the rock; the smiting of the rock is His atoning death; the water is the eternal life.
Great Savior. The ark in preparation, the ark battling in the flood, the ark on the mountain. Speaking about Christ's incarnation, propitiation and exaltation and intercession.
Praying for the unconverted. A plea for watching over the unsaved in our families, in prayer, in testifying about the Lord, in dedication to the Lord and separation from sin.
Great work. A church must have the sword of the Spirit, an evangelistic spirit, to fight against apostasy; and to work for building up the believers.
Presence of God. The Person of the Lord, the peace of the Lord and the presence of the Lord. God purposed the peace of His people from eternity, purchased the peace on the cross of Christ, and promised that peace to His people.
Separation. The tragedy of the churches in our times is that the ecclesiastical, the moral and the spiritual walls are down. We must start rebuilding the walls in our personal lives and in the church. We must separate from the spirit of the world. And we need men like Nehemiah, to came with a vision from the Lord.
Great Sermon! Very good message Dr. Barrett! Thanks for reminding us that there is a difference between hearing and listening. You are so correct that Papists are centered on the bread at the altar (Mass), whereas Biblical Protestants should be centered on the Bible readings and preaching and teaching. Amen!
