“ Great lessons. ” Blessed message on encouragement in times when walking the Christian way is hard. Great lessons I really needed today! We are encouraged by other Christians who walked before us, we are looking to our Savior, we are inspired and empowered by Him. We are not alone. This is our only hope. Christ will not leave us alone.
“ Great glory. ” Yes, it is the greatest thought for the starting of a year! My desire should be to know Him better and better, so desire to see His glory. Moses prays for the manifestation of God's presence, grace and power.
“ Great Savior. ” The mediation, the merits and the might of Christ. Jesus Christ is the only ladder to heaven, salvation is only in Him. His salvation is sure, the ladder reaches heaven.
“ Great glory in the cross. ” Christ is glorified in the shame of the cross, in the sufferings, the sacrifice and the success of the cross. The cross is the glory of Christ. We must not be ashamed of the cross, we must proclaim it.
“ Jesus Christ our altar. ” The people, the possession, the privileges. Jesus Christ is our altar and the sacrifice which made atonement for our sins once and for all. Because of His unique sacrifice we can bring our bodies, praises, prayers, service before God, and these can be accepted only because of Christ.
“ Serious warning. ” The folly of wasting your life in sin, living as there would not be a God, a salvation, a Day of Judgment. Sowing with the devil will bring a reaping of eternal damnation. How great is to sow in God and to reap His blessing!
“ What brings joy? ” Holiness is a biblical walk, a biblical worship, a biblical work for God. The exuberance of biblical holiness. And the effects of this exuberant joy. Holiness brings spiritual liberty and joy.
“ Love for the Word. ” Not forgetting the Word of God and loving it are synonyms. The man who forgets not the Word and loves it will be kept clean, will be blessed with fruitfulness, will have a testimony. There is always the danger to forget the Word and to find no more our pleasure in it.
“ Endued with Power ” Thank you, SA, for uploading this and the prior week's word from Mr Mercer at the Wenesday night PM.
How needy we are, how poor and small and weak, and sinful withal. How much we do need this power from on high, and the pleading of God's promises to His people, not one of which shall fall to earth and be void.
“ Place and power of the Bible. ” The place of the Bible in our lives; the proper use of the Bible in our lives; the power of the Bible in our lives. The sincere study of the Bible will clean our lives and will keep us clean.
“ 4 lessons. ” Four lessons: the great works of God cost many tears; holiness is the truest honor; devotion is the secret of promotion in the work of God; prayer is the key to prosperity. Jabez prayed for grace, growth, guidance and guarding.
“ How to respond to opposition. ” Excellent encouragement about how to respond to opposition to God's work. We must never cease to pray and continue to work.
“ Great assurance. ” 1) Gos is for us; 2) God delivered up Christ for us; 3) God justifies us; 4) Christ performed a complete work for us; 5) God loves us with an unconquerable love.
“ Serious warning. ” Cain's master was the evil one; in his malice, he refused the invitation of God to repentance; and he bore the sign of God's wrath upon him.
“ Great encouragement. ” Great encouragement! We must trust in God and the great power of Him to accomplish all what He wants and declares. And a warning to the unconverted: this power of God shall turn against those who will remain in sin.
“ Great assurance. ” Three consequences of justification: forgiveness, acceptance and assurance of heaven (glorification). We are accepted before God as Christ is accepted. We are accepted because of Him.
“ Great salvation. ” The sinner cannot be justified by what is in himself or by his doings, he must be justified by the righteousness of Christ. Clear presentation of the doctrine.
“ Great encouragement. ” Very great encouragement for us to cry unto the Lord in hard times, knowing that He will answer us because of who He is. From depth of failure and sin, of guilt, of suffering and weakness, of a burden, we must come to Him and cry to Him only.
