“ Thank you. ”
This study has been much appreciated. It has crystalised my thinking in many areas regarding the Christian's relationship with others who hold differing theological views. It has given me a clearer understanding of why sectarianism is sin. It has also released me from condemnation in areas where I differ (in non-essentials) from other good Christian brothers in my understanding of Scripture truth. This is a very helpful study. Thank you Dr. Barrett, and thank you Sermon Audio for the feast you provide.

“ Good preaching, halfway there! ”
This is well worth listening too, just sad that Mr Cairns falls short of separation as taught by scripture and applies it only to the church gathering. Hopefully he will get to read 2 Tim 2 one day and get the full picture. Egypt is RUINED - come out of her and be separate, not only when you meet together. But his word as applied to christians meeting is very good.

Its unfortunate that the so called modern day christian is sleeping fast. They have no attention span for this message. I rate it very high and note worthy...

thank you so much for your faithfulness & humble spirit....the church that I am in has a difficult time managing as we are without a preacher & sometimes the squabbling makes me want to fly away....wish that they could all see the great commission rather than wanting their own way. please ask your assembly to pray for those of like mind in the doctrines of grace. Hoping your surgery goes well....grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you

The Text Of Scripture - 3
Dr. Alan Cairns

“ The Bible did NOT evolve! ”
At the conclusion of this message, Dr. Cairns compares the creationist/evolutionist debate to the preserved Bible/critical text debate. After ALL of Darwin's supposed FACTS were disproved, evolutionists held to his THEORY by trying to find ANOTHER way to avoid special creation. In the same way, after the 'Syrian recension' of Westcott and Hort was disproven, the modern 'critical text' supporters try to find a way for THEIR bible to 'EVOLVE'.(ecclecticism)But this is CONTRARY to the FACTS & God's word. Cairn's ironic insight into the similar desperate attempts to hold to a theory once the foundational lies are exposed is great! This is a presentation in the spirit of Dean Burgon. Good stuff.

“ Clarion Call:return to the Preserved Bible! ”
The DOCTRINE of the text of scripture explained. There are so many WAYS to approach the support of the Authorised Bible(KJB): Cairns is 1.humble 2.logical 3.balanced 4.scholarly 5.humorous "God is, He wrote a book, He WILL preserve it." Presuppositional logic. He's NOT going to trash those who disagree with him, but you'll hear a reasoned support for the AV. The WEIGHT of the evidence will convince you. Well worth a CAREFUL study.

“ Apostasy and preaching the Gospel. ”
An excellent exposition on this section of Romans. Yes, apostasy is thriving in the 'church' today. We must respond with the truth. True reformed evangelical churches must take to the streets and preach the gospel. It is no good just preaching it in the pulpit to the converted. If any church fails to preach the true gospel to the unbelievers who otherwise might be seduced by the apostate churches, then that church will be failing in its duty as a watchman. Here in the United Kingdom the amount of men of God who dare to preach on the streets is like finding a needle in the hay stack. Surely Jesus was right when He spake 'Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels'. (Mark 8:38) Let us be reminded by the opening words of Revelation 21:8 'But the fearful....'. By fearful, this speaks of the cowards who head the list which includes the unbelieving, the idolators, murderers and so on. Look at the result. I implore men who profess Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Saviour to stand up for Christ and lift up His name in the public preaching of the gospel. I found it very frightening at first and am still very nervous when I go out, as indeed do my brothers. But we rest assured that we are doing exactly what the Lord God would have us to do. We look not for results, our preaching is only foolishness, but the gospel is powerful to save and we are assured that His word shall never return to Him void. Amen

“ Great Sermon! ”
A very sobering sermon. I wish everyone could hear this sermon. All of us desperately need to have truths like the brevity of our time and our accountability to God hammered home to us. He forcefully emphasizes the eternal importance of choices we make here below--especially our choices for or against Jesus Christ. Dr. Barrets voice was even and clear and I was easily able to hear every word. He didn't wander up and down in volume which I find very annoying. His delivery was crisp and clear and powerful.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I have been encouraged by this sermon. Dr Cairns raises our eyes to the great tradition of preaching in the reformed church. We need to encourage those who preach to walk close to the Lord in prayer and study of His Word, to preach with the passion of the indwelling Spirit without fear or favour. May many more people of character, love nad learning be called to bear the Word of the Lord and teach clearly to His people.

Dr. Cairns knows whereof he speaks. If you want to understand the times, and the vicious assault of Modernists on holy Scripture, this is an excellent place to start.

Excellent: I like the way this sermon was not a pronouncment and warning against apostasy perse but gave informative historical illustrations of the 'process of apostasy'. so..."If any man think he stand let him take heed lest he fall"...
