Great Sermon! This sermon focuses on Christ, the only legitimate object of true saving faith, as contrasted to mis-directed or false faith. It is a well balanced sermon (addressing both God's sovereignty and man's responsibility), is very well laid out, an encouragement, and of great benefit to anyone struggling with the issue of personal assurance.
Great life of Christ. I liked the thought that the Son of God came to earth to qualify Himself, to earn the right to be the Savior of His people. That His life is important and without the life couldn't exist His death. Very important teaching.
Excellent! Excellent lesson in Bible study: the connection between OT and NT, and the consummation of the OT in the NT. Refutation of the view that states that there is discontinuity between OT and NT.
I an saved from the wrath! God really blessed my soul through this message! I didn't know this verse. It helped me to appreciate more the sacrifice of God's Son, who bore the wrath of God in my stead!
To love these things. Blessed message about our redemption, resurrection and reception in glory. I realize that I love not these things as I should love them! God, increase my love toward You, Your salvation, Christ's sacrifice and Your heaven!
A Clear Teaching! I just want to than Dr Cairns for a straight foward explanation of tongues in this modern day and age. Our last pastor said he was a former pentecostal preacher, and waffled on tongues so much, he had no real clear position on it, and it was very confusing. Listening to Alan Cairns, I now understand what is going on, and that tongues today are not the same as they were in the first century. I so appreciate the audios I have heard from this man, with his strong, clear teaching, and for helping me understand counterfeit tongues in a way that I can now explain it to others.
Great Sermon! Glorious message of comfort about Christ the Savior and about our union with Him. Our life is from Him, our fruitfulness is from Him.
A warning for those walking on the broad road. Evangelistic sermon, a warning for those walking on the broad road, encouragement for those walking on the narrow way.
Great lessons. A woman whose faith and action was praised by the Lord, a woman who was so dedicated to the service of the Lord, that she cared not to listen to her accusers.
Saved by God. Evangelistic sermon about the difference between the religions made by men (in which man seek to get to God) and Christianity, in which we are saved by the power and wisdom of God. The preaching of the cross is a scandal for the religious man and a foolishness for the educated.
Old Testament survey. A message about the character of the Old Testament, a survey of the OT prophecies about Christ and the Gospel and of the OT types of Christ. Good interpretation of the OT in the light of Ephesians 2:12, the OT covenants are about the promise (singular) of the Gospel of Christ.
A salvation that changes you. A message about Paul humility in seeing himself and being Christ's slave, about his joy in the honor of being called an apostle, and about declaring that The Gospel of God governs His thinking, preaching and living. Very rich message.
What is true Gospel. Biblical refutation of the Liberal and dispensational error that there are more Gospels presented in the New Testament. And the refutation of the error that the Bible is a book of information about God's commands and about our duty toward God. Reinforcement of what it means God's Gospel and Good News.
Theme of the Epistle. Clear presentation of the theme of the Epistle to the Romans: the Gospel of God, concerning His Son, Jesus Christ. Alan Cairns is right: all messages preached must be tested in the light of the Gospel of Paul in Romans. What is not according to that is not a Biblical Gospel. My wish is to can say: "Here I stand, on this basis!"
