Humility has the effect of dulling the edge of our mistakes when we are wrong...while arrogance and pride sharpen that edge and we end up cutting a deeper wound.
We should strive with great zeal and earnestness to always discern the will of God in what we do. Yet, while we remain in this flesh, we are prone to sin...may we therefore continually strive to always have an honest and humble heart so as to cause the least amount of damage to our families, our brethren, our fellow man, and most of all, our Lord when we fail Him. In addition to cutting a shallower wound with a humble heart, we will be in a much better position to apply the healing salve of repentance. |
