Down but not out!! Thank you dear brother for a plain old fashioned but endearing message on the believers battle with self, the devil, our situations we find ourselves in and the times - all too often for me - where we feel defeated, downcast and disillusioned by our failures and the sin that all too often besets the believer. This message helps us and encourages us to keep going, asking the Lord to help us and heal us and like the disciples of old, the Lord comes to us and condescends to our needs making the first move towards us as loving Father does to his children. A must listen for the believer who needs the Lords encouragement
A Balm of Gilead This was simply outstanding. I can’t begin to express how much this ministered to me after having gone through (and continue to) a spiritually dark time the past 3 years. I have wondered what is wrong with me that my heart has become dull, lacking passion that once drove my life. Three years ago everything caved--spiritually, circumstantially, physically, financially and emotionally. I struggled with how to recover that passion. Nothing worked. Even the challenges serving in Africa was nothing in comparison to the past 3 years. This message gave renewed reassurance and much-needed hope. To those who feel as though they have messed up or failed -- listen to this message, and never forget the enemy is busy, seeking to destroy us, accusing us, and trying to convince us we have blown it and can never recover. Thankfully, this reminded me that it isn’t about me… it is about trusting in CHRIST and in HIS finished work, not mine. Only Christ is able to bring recovery, and in His time, will do so. Most importantly, He hasn’t given up on me! Thank you for these words of encouragement, Pastor Mercer
Good teaching Good teaching. Especially on the Greek word ekklesia and also on the fact that the church in Corinth was still Christ's church in spite of all their sins
Excuse me? I'm not here to say that there are no dispensationalists who believe what he is saying but I have been in dispensational churches all of my life (30 years as a christian) and I have never heard one preacher or teacher say what he ascribes to dispensationalists.
A great sermon to share with others! I needed to listen to this again. So encouraging for those who have been struggling with their prayer life. Prayer is powerful and we need to pray whether we feel like it or not. Thanks :)
Great Sermon! This is a message the church very badly needs to har. It seems that dispensationalosm rules the day, and with it, the belief that Christians have little influence in what they call "the church age," but as this message makes clear, Christ is seated on His throne right now, and as His servants, we have great power in the prayers we pray according to God's will. The teaching that God's kingdom is yet to come reduces much of the church to a people waiting for the day in which God will reign, a very convenient situation for the enemy...but as the bible passages preached in this sermon show, that day has already come, and saints reign with the Lord of lords and King of kings right now! We can, therefore, pray effectually, full of faith in God's power and desire to work His will through us!
Very useful. This is a very good sermon, a very good reminder of the fact that the Lord’s people must be engaged in a spiritual was and that we have to fight the battles of the Lord. Very useful descriptions of the Lord’s army.
Great Sermon! The desire for respectability, though exalted by the wicked world, is something strongly condemned by The Lord. That desire for respectability is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Never forget the sober warnings against such vanities like the desire for respectability set forth in 1 John 2:15-17.
Blessed Visit! This was such a blessed way to wind up our visit to your church and community. The personal application of God's quickening is a treasure for which we'll continue to pray. We were blessed beyond words by our brothers and sisters in Christ! The love we were shown has, I believe, left an indelible imprint in the hearts of my family. Please pray with us that God will move us to Greenville to fellowship with you and worship our amazing God with you. We will pray that in one year from now, we will be together, watching God do amazing things at FFPC! We love you all, Todd Poole and family
Great Sermon! I will never stop thanking God for his servant Rev. Mercer and the gift that he is to the body of Christ. Thank you LORD for our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and all that He is to me. He is all things to me. He brings calmness to my heart every time. Great message!!
Great Sermon! Very serious matter. We must think and pray about this subject. Am I ready? May God help me in my unreadiness, so that I can be ready in time.
