WELCOME brother Don Bell, pastor of Lantana Grace Church, Crossville, Tennessee. Brother Don is an old and dear friend of this church and we are glad he could come preach to us. .Mindy and I are vacationing with the Niberts and Charrons from Todd’s Road, and hope to return this Saturday.

NO WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICE THIS WEEK

“ I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day.” -Revelation 1:10

We know from the Scriptures that The Lord’s Day refers to the first day of the week, Sunday. That is when the early church met together. The Sabbath was Saturday. The Sabbath was given to typify resting in Christ, and was fulfilled in Christ and has now been done away with as much as the animal sacrifices! Sunday is not the Christian Sabbath! But Sunday is “The Lord’s Day.” All days belong to the Lord, but Sunday is the day that is to be set apart for public worship, hearing the gospel, and identifying myself and my family with Christ and gospel. Sunday is truly the Lord’s day and every believer is called on to treat it as such. – Todd Nibert

Nothing Small

There is nothing really small in human life. We start out in the morning, and what we may call a chance meeting, or the receipt of an ordinary letter, or some very slight circumstance may affect the whole of the subsequent life of quite a number of people. We call this the providence of God, and we do well; and the true Christian heart will always love to trace the hand of God in the ordinary experiences of life. For, after all, “ordinary” means “ordered” and it is the joy of the believer to realize that everything is ordered and that “all things work together for good to them that love God.” The harmonious and beneficent combination of circumstances guided and overruled by the wisdom and will of God constitutes for the Christian soul the joy and cheer of everyday living. – unknown

Stand Up For The Gospel

Contending for the truth against the errors of modern religion is the duty of God’s servants. I hope our spirit is one of genuine love to all the chosen of God; but today’s rule of charity which requires us to keep silent on certain points in order to avoid controversy, I utterly despise. It is treason to the Lord Jesus to be silent on any point where He has spoken and the honor of His Gospel is concerned. It is easy on the flesh to deal in generalities, to denounce hyper-this or hyper-that, and to claim to be a friend to all; but it is required of the loyal servant of King Jesus to maintain HIS crown-rights and to stand up for His Gospel of Glory and Grace. -- Henry Mahan

“Comfort One Another . . .” -- 1 Thessalonians 4:18

The Lord tells us to ‘comfort one another . . . exhort one another. . . bear one another’s burdens and so much more. Sadly, some are always being comforted by others and rarely do any comforting themselves. Paul, the strong apostle, once said, “who is weak and I am not weak?” Even the strongest believers need comforting. If you are always downcast, it is unbelief and self-pity; you are looking within, looking at your own problems, and not looking to the Lord and His promises. And you are not thinking on the things of others. We all have troubles. Shouldn’t we be giving comfort rather than always receiving ?
