Wednesday: 7:00 pm ---------------------------------------All Fulness in Christ – Colosssians 1:19

It has been a blessing hearing the gospel and having our brethren with us these three days. We thank the Lord for the messages and thank John and David for coming. And we have so enjoyed seeing our brethren from other churches. Until we meet again, may the Lord bless thee and keep thee.

Entrusted With The Gospel

There is one verse of scripture that I often read before praying, studying and preaching. Paul said in 1 Thessalonians, chapter 2, verse 4, “But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.” It is always very sobering to me as a preacher of the gospel, to know that the glorious “Gospel of Christ” has been “allowed” (approved) of God to be put in trust with me.” Preaching the Gospel is the greatest honor and privilege that could be bestowed upon a man. Hearing the Gospel is equally such a “PRIVILEGE.” To be “put in trust with the gospel” (entrusted) with the Word of God, is not only a wonderful honor and a privilege, but a gift given unto us by God.

-- David Eddmenson

No Accidental Meetings With The Gospel

Some years ago I was preaching the gospel to a congregation in Greenup Ky. It was a small group and in that group was a man in a wheel chair. He said to me after preaching a message that he believed that gospel. He said that he had been listening to my pastor Henry Mahan and loved that message that he preached. After preaching there for about five weeks, I received a phone call on a Saturday night telling me that the gentleman in the wheel chair had passed away and that I did not need to come back to preach anymore because they did not believe the gospel that I preached. What a blessing it was to me to be used of God to feed one of His sheep before taking him home and what a curse it was to them who rejected it.

There are no accidental meetings with the gospel. 2Co 2:15-16 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? – John Chapman

No True Sinner Turned Away

I challenge anyone to put his or her finger on one scripture in the Holy Bible where Christ ever turned away a truly repentant sinner. You won’t find one! Many came in pride that were turned away. Many

came in religion that were soon drawn away. Yet never was there one desperate sinner who came with great need and desire to be healed that was ever denied His grace. – David Eddmenson

Spiritual Dangers and Falls

I heard a story of a little girl who fell out of bed one night and her mother came rushing into the room and asked her little girl what happened. The little girl replied, I guess I stayed too close to where I got in.

We are to grow in grace and in knowledge of Christ, we are to go on to know the Lord. We are to take His yoke and learn of Him, Matthew 11:29. The more we learn of Christ in our hearts, the more aware we become of spiritual dangers and falls. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.– John Chapman

More Profitable

It is more profitable and enjoyable to love than to hate, to forgive than to hold a grudge, to smile than to quarrel, to behave kindly than to act ugly. The way of the transgressor is hard, not the way of the believer. – Henry Mahan

If you hope for happiness in the world, hope for it from God, and not from the world.” -- David Brainerd
