The power of biblical preaching 1 Cor. 1:18

1 Corinthians 1:18 is the theme verse for the Inspiring Word broadcast ministry. We selected it because the verse portrays a very specific result and purpose. Looking at the verse, we can see its impact on everyone’s life. Let’s look; “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” Preaching the Cross of Christ affects all of humanity, those who need Christ as their Savior and those who have Christ as their Savior. Today when people criticize, ridicule, or even verbally abuse Christ this verse explains why. Their behavior is the foolishness of unbelief and identifies the perishing. Too often, the Church becomes defensive instead of humbly following the leadership of Christ by seeking heavenly intervention in their lives which is the saving of their soul. To the Christian, and I am talking to the sincerely born again Christian the cross of Christ is the power of God revealed through our daily life. We’re not perfect or sinless or without failure but Christ is. We learn from the Sermon on the Mount the Christian is salt and light in the spiritually thirsty and sin darken world. Every born again saint is a preacher of the gospel. I want to encourage the Christian to embrace that reality today, embrace it boldly and humbly seeking the salvation of those who most need it, those who were just like you, the perishing!
