While at work this verse come to mind, and felt it would be a terrific devotional, “Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men”. I took it for today’s devotion. Like many when I think of this verse what usually comes to mind is what we call the unforgivable sin, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. However this morning my thoughts were elsewhere. From the first part of verse 31 we read …”All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men…”. The Lord knows our lives, the best and worst of it, in spite of all my wickedness He is willing to forgive it and me! This humbles me to tears. And, if you stop and reflect on you life for awhile it will you as well. Why, because of the Lord's Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness. All manner, that’s everything, only one exception, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. For those who may not know what blasphemy is, verbal abuse against someone which denotes the very worst type of slander. Jesus blood and righteousness covers my sin and because I know this I also know I haven’t sinned against the Holy Spirit. I don’t deserve it, haven’t earned it but thanks to Jesus I have received forgiveness of sin. You can too, if He is moving in your heart call unpo Him, ask for that amazing Grace!
