Demonstrating genuine Christian love in the church may require you to make the self-sacrifice of putting your reputation on the line by sounding the alarm about apostasy within your own church.
This is an extremely critical issue today. Because of the influences of postmodernist thinking, even some of the reputedly strongest churches are tolerating and even promoting apostasy, in ways both subtle and overt.
What does God's Word say you must do when you discover actual apostasy, or a drift toward apostasy, in your church? What is the truly loving response? What motivates it? What demonstrates it?
God's Word says that both the motivation and demonstration of the proper response to apostasy are based on agape love. Agape love's motivation recognizes the preciousness of Christ's true church. Agape love's demonstration of care for His church is in being willing to put your reputation on the line by exposing apostasy when it threatens.
