In Colossians 1:28, Paul tells us that he took very seriously his calling and responsibility to deliver warnings from God to every Christian. Both Old Testament prophets and New Testament preachers have this commission.
God told Ezekiel to stand as a watchman and give a warning to both the righteous and the wicked; otherwise God would hold him accountable for their blood (Ezekiel 3:17-21).
Likewise, Paul said to the Ephesian elders in Acts 20, "I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God."
