"And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight." (Colossians 1:21-22)
Last week, in “Christian, Remember Who You Were,” we focused on the past aspect of Paul’s great statement. This week we move on to the present and future aspects of these verses.
Christ has purchased the end of alienation and enmity, the privilege of reconciliation, and the settled fact of once-for-all justification. By His grace we engage in the grateful duty of sanctified living, and we look forward to the wondrous prospect of final perfection when Christ will present us “faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 24-25).
That’s our focus as we continue our series, Christ Above All: Studies in Colossians.
