CALL TO WORSHIP
Now may the Lord reveal His grace
And teach our stamm’ring tongues
To make His sovereign, reigning grace
The subject of our songs.
No sweeter subject can invite
A sinner’s heart to sing
Or more display the glorious right
Of our exalted King.
Grace reigns to pardon crimson sins
Removes the hardest hearts
And from the work it once begins
It never once departs.
“Twas grace that called our souls at first
By grace thus far we’ve come
And grace will keep us through the worst
And grace will take us home.
(Tune: “O for a Thousand Tongues” p. 46)

We rejoice with Kyndon Keesee who confessed Christ in believer’s baptism last Sunday. We also rejoice with Lucy Leith who will confess Christ in baptism following the message this morning. We thank God for His mercy and grace to His people.
THERE IS FORGIVENESS WITH THEE – Psalm 130:4
Even though I am the worst of sinners, there is a good hope that my sins will be forgiven because there is forgiveness with God. I know that there is forgiveness with God because God has promised to forgive sin. “I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” (Jer. 31:34)
I know that God will not withhold mercy from sinners because “he delighteth in mercy” (Micah 7:18).
I know that God will be merciful to His people because God found a way to show mercy to sinners in justice. God forgives the sin of His people because the Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died for their sin. God’s justice demands death for sin. Since Christ has already died for the sin of His people, they can never die. Now God’s justice demands that His elect be forgiven of all of their sin and be given eternal life. Then mercy is sure because the very character of God demands it. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Eph. 1:7).

Believer’s Baptism
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:15-16
For whatever reason men deny, discount, or make light of the immersion of believers as the public profession of salvation, I challenge them to do so using the Scriptures rather than their denominational fathers and their own human logic. The Scriptures require that every person who claims Christ as Lord and Savior should be immersed (Mark 16:16; Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Acts 9:18). Read the accounts of conversion in the New Testament and you'll find that all of them publicly professed their faith in Christ by following the Lord Jesus in baptism. You may sprinkle your infants and say that this ritual takes the place of circumcision. Paul was circumcised as an infant but when he became a believer in Christ he was baptized! Why be immersed when, like some of you, he had fulfilled the covenant ceremony? He was immersed to fulfill all righteousness, to be identified with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection, and to publicly confess his faith in the Lord Jesus! And, I might add, to obey the command of his Lord!
We will never hear the gospel of God until we are blessed with some preachers who "care not!" — preachers who care not what men say, who care not what men pay, who care not for tradition, who care not for position, but who only care for the glory of Christ.”

You say you are unworthy of the least of God’s mercies. Aren’t you glad Christ is worthy and that the redemption He accomplished was for the unworthy? You say you have no goodness or merits to claim. Aren’t you thankful God accepts sinners based upon the goodness and merits of His Son? You say the law affords you no hope. Right you are, but the Gospel declares that the mercy and grace of God is freely given to sinners because of the doing and the dying of His dear Son! This is the only salvation worth having and the only one worthy to be proclaimed. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
