Samson was a strong man, physical when the Spirit of God came on him. But mentally he wasn't so strong. His bad habits of messing with sin finally caught up to him one day. Now having been captured by the Philistines his eyes having been up out he is now working day in and day out grinding at the mill as their slave. But no trial is ever wasted when it comes to God. His physical eyesight might have been destroyed but his spiritual eyesight had been restored. While there in the prison house his hair began to grow again; the hair being only a sign of his closeness with God. While Samson was toiling he was getting right with God and God began to show him some things in order to restore Samson to fellowship. Starting with the sin that had surrounded Samson and that he had fully embraced. The strength of the better was revealed to this man, and it wasn't his strength that was superior either. This in turn was what led to the sorrow that he was now under. But you never paint a forest without painting a way out. In all this Samson saw there was a Savoir who still loved him. He saw that so long as a person draws breath there is still a chance for salvation which he seized. Samson isn't mentioned outside of Judges again until Hebrews 11:32. He is in the Faith Hall of Fame. How is our spiritual eyesight, is it 20/20? Or could we use a spiritual check up?
