Who is the first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? He is a conqueror (Revelation 6:2).
The other Rider on a white horse mentioned in Revelation is clearly the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the WORD of God. The blood on his garment represents his own vicarious death. In the wake of the sin of our first parents, he is the only Faithful and True person to have lived on earth. He is the only truly just judge, and he is the only one who has ever fought a completely just war. (Revelation 19:11-13)
Nor is the rider on the white horse of Revelation 6:2 one of the angelic spirits of Zechariah 6:1-8. Rather this rider is an ambitious person, hell-bent on conquering and controlling others by physical force.
How different the Lord Jesus is from all other conquerors in history. Consider Muhammad whose life is revealed in the Quran and in the hadith written down by his favorite wife, Aisha, whom he married when she was nine. Muhammad and his followers spread Islam by the literal sword.
The Lord Jesus spread Christianity by the sword of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God. Neither our Lord nor his followers used physical force to spread the Faith until after Christianity was adopted by the Roman Empire.

It was madness for the United States to be pulled into that war. Indeed, World War I made World War II necessary. But not even a necessary war is a war without sin, sins that often destroy the souls of the victors as well as those of the vanquished.
