The Gospel Separates – by John Chapman
False religion says, you are ok, I am ok, and lets walk together. This is not ok, for the word of God says, Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Light, and darkness – truth, and a lie -- the right Jesus, and a wrong jesus, the right Gospel and the wrong gospel cannot walk together. “For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him” (2 Cor.11:4).
The gospel separates the sheep from the goats, it does not help them to walk together. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Yes it is true, the true Gospel divides and separates, while at the same time it unites God’s family as one. A gospel that does not make a difference is not the Gospel of God’s glory.
Note these scriptures. Lev 20:23-27 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people. Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean. And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
Faith Without Works is Dead
If my children follow my example, what kind of people will they be? Will they be faithful or unfaithful? Generous or stingy? Content or complaining? If every marriage has mine as its example, will people be happily married? If every church member were just like me, what kind of church would this church be? If every employee were just like me. . . I could go on and on, but the point is “Faith without works is dead.”
A faith that does not manifest itself in every area of my life is not saving faith! The first thing the Lord said to each of the seven churches in Asia was, “I know thy works.” It is our works that prove the reality of our faith. The example we give is what we really are! – Donald Bell
Do You Say You Are Unworthy?
You say you are unworthy of the least of God’s mercies. Aren’t you glad Christ is worthy and that the redemption He accomplished was for the unworthy? You say you have no goodness or merits to claim. Aren’t you thankful God accepts sinners based upon the goodness and merits of His Son? You say the law affords you no hope. Right you are, but the gospel declares that the mercy and grace of God is freely given to sinners because of the doing and the dying of His dear Son! This is the only salvation worth having and the only one worthy to be proclaimed. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. – Jack Shanks
God giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added affliction He addeth His mercy
To multiplied trials, He multiplies peace. -copied
