The Believer’s Changes and The Unchanging Lord

A believer sets out on this journey of life, and he has to travel many a day before he reaches his home. WHAT CHANGES HE EXPERIENCES ALONG THE WAY! Today it is fair; the next day there is a thunderstorm. Today he is on the mountain; tomorrow he is in the valley. Such is our journey – ever changing! But one thing is sure and never changes – OUR LORD AND HIS WORD. I don’t know WHAT tomorrow holds, but I know WHO holds tomorrow. I don’t know where my roads may WIND, but I know where it will END! So, amid all the changing times and seasons, I will look to HIM who said, “I am the Lord, I change not, therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

KEEP YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY UNDER THE GOSPEL INFLUENCE. – unknown

"Thou Art My God" -- Psalm 31:14

Here is the saint's refuge in times of grief, trouble, weakness and calamity; when enemies within and without seem to abound, "But I trusted in Thee, 0 Lord! David here, being typical of all believers, had no other refuge but that which he found in the Lord his God. If enemies slandered him, he did not render railing for railing, but he calmly trusted in the Lord. His enemies ran here and there, devising all kinds of schemes to make the man of God their victim. But he met all their devices with the one simple defense,” Trust in God."

Many are the fiery darts of the wicked one, but our shield is sure, "But I trusted in the Thee, 0 Lord." We have another glorious claim, the greatest claim that a man has made or ever can make, "I said, Thou art my God." He that can say, "This kingdom is mine," makes a royal claim, he that can say, "This mountain of silver is mine," makes a wealthy claim, but he that can say to the Lord, "Thou art my God," has said more than all the monarchs and millionaires can ever say.

If this God is your God, by the gift of Himself to you, what more can you desire or have than God Himself? If Jehovah has been made yours by an act of faith, what more can be conceived of? You don't have the world, but you have the Maker of the world, and that is far more than having the world! There is no measuring the greatness of the treasure of the soul, who has God to be his all in all!

God's people must have the truth for they are begotten of it; therefore they love it, though it often cuts to the very heart. They also hunger and thirst after righteousness, because they are aware of how desperate their need of it is; for in themselves they know they are destitute of it. Do you love and desire the truth? Do you hunger and thirst after righteousness? -- Don Bell

What Heaven Is Not – By Milton Howard, pastor, Ball, La.

We understand more about what Heaven is and will be to us by understanding what it is not and will not be to us. There will be no more sin – no more pain – no more sorrow – no more crying – no more war – no more death – no more sickness – no more heartache – no more fear – no more confusion – no more lacking – no more vanity – no more waiting – no more going astray – no more reproach – no more affliction – no more darkness – no more troubles – no more misery – no more wicked to oppress – no more forsaken – no more curse – no more dishonoring of God – our name will no more be called Jacob.

“But the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him: and they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.”( Revelation 22: 3-5)
